We recently won the contract to build an extension to an existing and live psychiatric care home right in the heart of Birmingham. The nature of the care provided presented a number of challenges in setting up the site as the residents needed to have access to the gardens at all times. This ordinarily wouldn't have been a problem but we needed to cordon off part of the garden to enable us to safely set to work building the extension to the side of the main building.
Once the hoarding was in situ and we were satisfied that the residents had a safe environment to wonder and enjoy, it was time to start work; well not quite, as before we could lay shovel to earth there was the small matter of removing a 60 foot high tree and its root system.
