A “Howling” Success as Team CB Complete Wolf Run
Birmingham Builders Complete “The Wolf Run” –
The day had finally arrived, it was 2nd September, and any training in preparation for the Wolf Run was behind us. All that was left to do was to enjoy the day and hopefully make it to the end without injury. Our running numbers were called, and we were guided through to an area where instructions were given and warm up took place. The fitness instructors made it fun whilst at the same time reading us the riot act regarding health and safety, something that we know about in the building industry.
Before we knew it we were lining up for the start, the starter’s gun fired, and we were off. What lay in front of us was 10km of mud water and obstacles. It was a warm sunny day with a party like atmosphere where everyone was out for a couple of hours of fun. Whether jumping over bales of hay, crawling through 6 inches of mud or swimming across a lake, it seemed that everyone was smiling or laughing and just having fun, there were no “Iron Men” at today’s event hell bent on beating a previous personal best.
And at the end, a sense of achievement at completing the course and a well-earned mug of tea and packet of chips to replace the calories burnt on the day, just perfect.
